Someone within walking distance of you almost certainly has what you're looking for — the cycle, the room, the electrician. You just have no way of knowing.
Most marketplaces solved the wrong half of that problem. They made the world bigger and left the neighbourhood invisible, so a simple local exchange became a transaction with a stranger from another state, complete with advance payments and the risk that comes with them.
Locvia is built the other way around: start with proximity, then build trust on top of it.
Our work is guided by one belief: the best opportunities, people and solutions are almost always closer than we think. Technology shouldn't replace human connection — it should unlock it.
Practically, this is a filter for every decision we make. If a feature brings people closer — to each other, to opportunity, to something they need — we build it. If it optimises for scale or attention at the cost of that closeness, we don't.
Trust before scale. Growth that erodes trust is a loan against the product, not a gain.
People before numbers. A reputation should reflect real deals with real neighbours, not volume.
Simplicity before complexity. If a feature needs a tooltip to explain it, it needs redesigning — not a tooltip.
Long-term impact before short-term attention. No dark patterns, no manufactured urgency, no fake scarcity.
